“We all made mistakes”- Victor Osimhen issues verdict after Galatasaray’s draw against Dynamo Kyiv

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has blamed Galatasaray’s disappointing 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv on the team’s erratic display, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen maintained his place in Galatasaray’s starting eleven when they welcomed Dynamo Kyiv to Rams Park on Tuesday. It was expected to be an easy game for the Turkish champions, but they flattered to deceive.

After going two goals up courtesy of Davinson Sanchez and Abdulkerim Bardakci, the Rams conceded a goal just before the break.

Osimhen scored in the second half to make it 3-1, but Galatasaray capitulated in the final quarter of the tie. Andriy Yarmolenko scored twice in 13 minutes to ensure it ended 3-3.

Although Galatasaray’s scored three goals, it was a disappointing night for them. Osimhen was one of the culprits, as he missed four big chances.

Following the result, Osimhen was quite critical of his team’s performance. He stated that his team’s mistakes cost them the three points.

“We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more. We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes,” Osimhen said per Galatasaray Harber.

“They also fought well and scored goals. There were two consecutive draws. Now we need to work and learn from our mistakes. We need to focus on the upcoming matches.

“We need to understand each other better at certain moments. If I’m going strong, I look at who I can pass to and who I can receive the pass from.

“We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and be better.”

That result means that Galatasaray will have to wait until the last game of the first round against Ajax at the Johan Crujff Arena next week before they confirm their spot in the knockout rounds.
