Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has taken legal action against the Turkish journalist who accused him of assaulting him two weeks ago, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen has been in fine form since joining Galatasaray last summer. The Super Eagles star has registered 16 goals and five assists in 21 appearances for the Turkish giants.
However, away from his brilliance on the pitch, the 26-year-old striker has been involved in a controversy off the pitch recently.
A Turkish journalist named Tolga Bozduman recently accused Osimhen of assaulting him when he tried to take pictures of the Super Eagles star after Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Dynamo Kyiv two weeks ago. The issue has been one of the most talked-about topics recently.
After the news broke, Osimhen had a comical response as he made a mocking posture after scoring for Galatasaray against Konyaspor on Saturday. The Super Eagles star still posted the picture on his social media page.
Now, in a new development, per Buchi Laba, Osimhen is taking legal action. He has sued the journalist for defamation and the hearing is expected to start on Monday.
According to Buchi Laba, Osimhen said, “If I hit him, he’s going to get justice and if he lied, he’s going to get the rot of the law.
