“If he joins this team”– Obafemi Martins predicts Osimhen’s move to Manchester United

Former Super Eagles and Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins has thrown his weight behind Victor Osimhen’s potential move to Manchester United, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 2023 CAF Player of the Year has been linked with several top clubs, including the Red Devils, following his explosive year with Napoli with 31 goals, which helped Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Despite being on loan at Galatasaray, rumours have surfaced about Chelsea and Manchester United’s interest in acquiring the Nigerian international.

Speaking to AfricaFoot, Martins expressed confidence in Osimhen’s ability to transform Manchester United’s attacking prowess if a transfer materialises.

“If he comes into this team, everything changes, especially in terms of the way they score goals,” Martins said. “He has speed and power, but also finishing. He is one of the best finishers in Europe, and he has proven it in successive seasons.”

While United are reportedly monitoring Osimhen’s performances at Galatasaray, the Nigerian striker’s impressive record of 13 goals in 16 appearances has only heightened the interest of potential suitors.

With Manchester United in dire need of a reliable goal scorer, speculation about the Super Eagles talisman making a move to England continues to gain traction.

Earlier reports suggest that Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, had discussions with Osimhen regarding a potential move to Manchester.

However, the Nigerian striker has expressed his intention to remain in Istanbul until the end of the season, stating that any interested parties will have to wait until then.
