Garnacho’s potential move to Napoli could reduce Manchester United’s summer fees for Osimhen

English Premier League giants, Manchester United, could sign Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer if they play their cards right with Alejandro Garnacho’s sale, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has been repeatedly linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all interested. However, the Napoli loanee has made it clear that he’ll stay put at Galatasaray until his loan spell elapses.

Manchester United’s youngster, Alejandro Garnacho, has been put up for sale by the three-time UEFA Champions League winners. Serie A side, Napoli, and Chelsea, are keen on the services of the 20-year-old.

As per Il Mattino, Antonio Conte and Napoli’s Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna, are big fans of the Argentine, and want him as soon as possible. However, they face a huge problem as Manchester United are holding out for a higher fee with Garnacho.

Ruben Amorim’s side are demanding a fee in the range of £50m, while Napoli are offering about £15-18m less. While the gap is slowly narrowing, the progress is too slow compared to the expectations of the parties involved.

Osimhen to Manchester United?

In a bid to hasten the deal and seal a move for Garnacho this month, Napoli are willing to offer a discount to Manchester United on Victor Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray.

Since Scott McTominay moved to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium from Old Trafford last summer for €31m, Napoli are confident they can seal a deal for Garnacho but are unsure if they can meet United’s demands.

Osimhen is expected to command a €75 million fee in the summer, but the three-time Scudetto winners could reduce this price if the Red Devils reduce their asking price for Garnacho.

If such a deal will be struck, Manchester United, Napoli, and Victor Osimhen will enter into some form of undisclosed agreement that’ll allow the deal to go on smoothly in the summer.

For Manchester United, a discount on Osimhen would be a blessing, as they’ll be able to splash more money on other vital positions that need players that fit Ruben Amorim’s tactical style in the summer.

It is currently unknown if Osimhen will prefer a move to Old Trafford. With Arsenal consistently vying for the English Premier League title, and Chelsea pressing on to play in the UEFA Champions League next season, a move to Manchester United will mean the Super Eagles forward will not participate in European competitions.

Additionally, United are undergoing a lot of background changes and that could present a red flag for the Napoli loanee.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are in more stable conditions for Osimhen’s arrival, but none of them possess the negotiation leverage United currently have due to the situation of Alejandro Garnacho. Ultimately, the decision rests between Osimhen and Napoli.
