Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has taken to social media to share moments of his downtime with Nigerian music icons Davido and Zlatan Ibile, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old forward, dressed in a crisp all-white outfit complete with matching sneakers, was pictured alongside Afrobeats superstar Davido and rapper Zlatan, who won acclaim for his 2020 hit single Lagos Anthem.
Boniface attended Davido’s sold-out concert at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, joining Nigerian celebrities including Cubana Chief Priest and Ubi Franklin.
The striker, currently sidelined with a thigh injury sustained during Nigeria’s 2-1 loss to Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, will not return to action until the new year.
Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso confirmed the news, stating that Boniface had aggravated the injury over the international break.
However, the Nigerian star finds himself embroiled in controversy back in Germany.
A video circulating on social media appears to show Boniface using his phone while driving 20km/h above the speed limit.
German tabloid BILD reports that Bayer Leverkusen has launched an internal investigation into the incident.
The club acknowledged the matter in a statement, with Alonso also addressing the situation.
The traffic violation comes just six weeks after Boniface survived a serious car accident with only minor injuries.
Despite the ongoing probe, the Bundesliga champions remain committed to securing the future of the Super Eagles striker, whose 2023 arrival played a pivotal role in their league title triumph.
Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs monitoring his situation.
