Serie A heavyweights Juventus have reportedly identified in-form Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as a potential target for the upcoming Summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman’s exceptional performances for Atalanta have not gone unnoticed, as the Nigerian international continues to attract interest from top European clubs seeking to bolster their attacking options.
A report from Bianconeranews, citing SportsItalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, reveals that Juventus are eyeing Lookman as a possible replacement for Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Old Lady could move for Lookman if negotiations over Vlahovic’s contract renewal hit a deadlock.
While Vlahovic is under contract with Juventus until 2026 following his extension in 2022, the prolific striker has drawn significant interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal. Should Vlahovic secure a move next summer, Lookman is viewed as an ideal replacement to fill the void.
Victor Osimhen, another prominent Super Eagles forward, would have been Juventus’ top choice, but Napoli’s reluctance to sell their prized asset to a domestic rival has ruled out any possibility of such a deal.
Meanwhile, Lookman’s future in Bergamo remains uncertain. Atalanta could look to cash in on the Nigerian star, who is currently one of the most sought-after players on the transfer market. Juventus will likely face competition, but their interest underscores the growing demand for Lookman’s services.
With the January window fast approaching, it remains to be seen whether Lookman will stay at Atalanta or make a high-profile switch in the summer.
