Iwobi makes EPL Team of the Week following midweek double against Brighton

Iwobi is enjoying his best-ever season in the English Premier League, regarding goal contribution numbers.

Super Eagles and Fulham attacking midfielder, Alex Chuka Iwobi, was amongst Sofascore’s highest-rated players for the EPL Matchday 14, making the team of the week, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Arsenal man scored a brace against Brighton and Hove Albion to take Fulham into the top six on the league table, as Marco Silva’s side push for European spots.

In Sofascore’s team of the week, Brentford’s Mark Flekken starts in goal despite conceding three against Aston Villa. The Dutch goalkeeper made seven huge saves to keep the scoreline pretty.

Everton’s Ashley Young and James Tarkowski make the right hand side of the defence following their side’s 4-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Young ironically became the oldest player in EPL history to score from a direct free kick while Tarkowski had his goal ruled out for offside.

On the left-hand side, Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen makes the list after scoring the only goal in their win over Tottenham Hotspur, and is joined by Leicester City’s Viktor Kristiansen to complete the back four.

In a four-man midfield, Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah holds the right hand spot after scoring a brace in the draw against Newcastle United.

Nigerian duo, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi were in the middle after helping their respective side’s to victory. The midfield four is completed by Leicester’s Bilal El Khannous.

Iwobi celebrating alongside his national teammate, Calvin Bassey.

Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and Chelsea’s Christopher Nkuku make the front two as their sides secured all three points against Brentford and Southampton respectively.
