Atalanta President slams the door on potential Ademola Lookman suitors ahead of winter window

Ademola Lookman has been impressive for Atalanta for the past two seasons, and the club is unwilling to let him go

Atalanta President Antonio Percassi has affirmed that the club will not sell Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman during the January transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman has been impressive for Atalanta for the past two seasons. Lookman has been impressive for Atalanta for the past two seasons. But the world took notice of him after his performance in last season’s UEFA Europa League.

Due to his performances some top clubs in Europe like PSG, Manchester United, and Chelsea were reportedly interestly in acquiring his services. However, the transfer did not work out, as Atalanta decided to hold on to the Nigerian.

This season, Lookman has continued from where he left off last season. The 27-year-old winger has registered ten goals and five assists in 16 appearances for La Dea.

Due to his impressive displays, the talks about his future have not stopped, as some clubs are still interested in his services. However, that will not happen this summer. This is as Atalanta President Percassi has insisted that the Nigerian is not for sale at the moment. He revealed this after Lookman scored the winner for Atalanta in their 2-1 win over AC Milan on Friday.

“Our plan is not to change anything in the January window,” Percassi said, per Fabrizio Romano.

As it stands, Lookman’s current deal is expected to end at 2026, and Atalanta are already looking to extend the deal. If the Super Eagles star refuses to pen a new deal, the club may be forced to sell him next summer.
