“At some moments I felt frustrated” – Lookman reflects on Atalanta’s Serie A title charge as 5th Nigerian hopeful

Super Eagles attacker Ademola Lookman has shared his thoughts on Atalanta’s remarkable Serie A campaign, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Bergamo-based club secured a 2-1 victory over AC Milan at the Gewiss Stadium, thanks to Looman’s 87th-minute strike, which sealed and extended their lead at the top of the Serie A table by two points, with Napoli yet to play their match.

With Atalanta sitting atop the table and aiming for their first-ever Scudetto, Lookman urged caution, emphasising the importance of staying focused and taking it one game at a time.

“Everything is possible, but we think game by game. This is the right mentality. The team is showing all its strength. The important thing is that we won the game, even if at some moments I felt frustrated,” he said, as quoted by Fcinternews.

Four Nigerians—Victor Moses, Obafemi Martins, Taribo West, and Victor Osimhen—have previously won the Scudetto, and Lookman is now eyeing the chance to become the fifth Nigerian to achieve this feat.

The Super Eagles star has been instrumental in Atalanta’s campaign, contributing eight goals and four assists in 12 league games.

His performances have attracted attention from European clubs, but his focus remains on helping Atalanta in their quest for the historic title.
