Report: Galatasaray provide fresh Victor Osimhen fitness update

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen missed a training session at Galatasaray on Saturday, but sources at the club maintain that it was just a precautionary measure, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has been impressive since his transfer to Turkish Super Lig kings Galatasaray during the summer transfer window. The Nigerian has registered four goals and four assists in seven games.

But unfortunately, his fitness problems which have plagued him for most of his career have continued. Recall that the 25-year-old striker missed two weeks of action last month, and that made him miss two games.

Nonetheless, Osimhen made up for his absence by scoring on his return. However, it appears that presently, the Super Eagles star is not fully fit.

Osimhen missed Galatasaray’s training session on Sunday. But according Sporx, it was just a precautionary measure to avoid an overload.

As of press time, Osimhen’s participation in Galatasaray’s Sunday training session has not been confirmed yet.

The Lions’ next game is a UEFA Europa League fixture against Tottenham on Wednesday, and coach Orkan Buruk will be hoping that Osimhen regains full fitness before the game.

It is also important for Osimhen that he stays fit this season. If his injury problems persist, he may not get his desired transfer to a big club in the top five leagues.
