“What more can I say” – Ex-Galatasaray president lauds Osimhen-Icardi partnership

Victor Osimhen scored his fourth league goal of the season in Galatasaray's 2-1 win over Beşiktaş on Monday night.

Former Galatasaray President, Adnan Polat, showered praise on the club’s striking duo, Mauro Icardi and Victor Osimhen, following their victory over Beşiktaş in the Istanbul derby, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen and Icardi have been in red hot form for Okan Buruk’s side this season, contributing to eleven goals in the Super Lïg for the table-toppers.

Osimhen, who joined the Turkïye side on loan from Napoli last month, found the back of the net in Galatasaray’s 2-1 victory against Beşiktaş on Monday night, drawing praise from the club’s 33rd President.

“I congratulate both teams, I am happy that we won. I hope Galatasaray continues like this. I also congratulate Beşiktaş, they fought well. Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi are great, what more can I say,” the 71-year-old said as per Ekol TV.

Galatasaray – Beşiktaş

Quizzed about the team he thinks will lift the Turkish Super Lïg at the end of the season, Adnan Polat said;

“It is too early. Let’s get closer to May and then we will talk. Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe will continue in the race, Samsunspor is doing very well. Trabzonspor will recover with Şenol Hoca. The race will continue among the big three.”

Osimhen, Icardi, and the rest of the Galatasaray face their next big test on Thursday when they take on Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur in their UEFA Europa League group stage clash. The Nigerian striker is expected to start as he’s returned to full fitness after suffering a thigh injury some weeks ago.
