“She told me” – Folashade Ijamilusi credits Ajibade’s advice for hattrick performance vs. Algeria

Folashade Ijamilusi has attributed her impressive hat-trick performance to Rasheedat Ajibade in Super Falcons’ 4-1 victory over Algeria, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ijamilusi opened the scoring just 12 minutes into the match, converting from a corner kick, and doubled Nigeria’s lead nine minutes later by pouncing on a rebound after Blessing Ilivieda’s shot hit the crossbar.

Her relentless efforts were crucial in solidifying Nigeria’s dominance throughout the game. After the match, Ijamilusi expressed her elation at scoring three goals.

“I feel so good… for me scoring the three goals, and all thanks to God and also to the coaches for giving me the privilege and also to my wonderful teammates for their efforts, I’m so grateful to God.” She told Brila FM.

Ijamilusi also credited her Atletico Feminine forward and the captain of the team for providing her with the motivation to seize the opportunity in the game.

“Let me say from Rash [eedat Ajibade], she told me they [the Algerian women] will want to go for her and that I should take it. Then I used the opportunity.” she added.

The Super Falcons showcased their superiority in the friendly encounter, having previously won the first match 2-0 on the same pitch just three days before.

Ijamilusi’s hat-trick, combined with a goal from Gift Monday, helped Nigeria secure a decisive win against their Algerian counterparts, with the only goal for the visitors coming from Ouassila Alouache just before halftime.
