Barcelona coach Hansi Flick showed support for Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke by hugging him while he was walking off the pitch after he sustained an injury on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ejuke has been impressive for Sevilla in recent weeks. The Nigerian arrived at the club in the summer, and after a slow start, he picked up the pace.
He got his first goal for the club four weeks ago, helping them defeat Valladolid in La Liga. Since then, he has been a starter.
Ejuke also started for Sevilla when they played Barcelona on Sunday. The 26-year-old forward who is known for his ability to dribble and wriggle past defenders with ease, did not see much of the ball as Barcelona dominated the possession. The few times he got the ball, he had very little time to think or create anything.
His woes were further compounded after he sustained what looked like a hamstring injury and had to be taken off in the 46th minute.
At the time, Barcelona were leading 3-0, but interestingly, Flick went over to Ejuke to hug him.
Flick is a great man manager, and it is something many managers do when they see opposition players sustained painful injuries.
