Onyedika’s Club Brugge set sights on luring Super Eagles forward back to Belgium – Report

Raphael Onyedika's impressive performance for Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge has piqued the interest of top teams who are looking to secure his signature

Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge are reportedly eyeing a potential winter move for Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, as the Nigerian forward continues to endure a frustrating spell at Southampton, Soccernet.ng reports.

After a challenging stint at the English club, where Onuachu has struggled for game time and failed to find the back of the net, a move away appears inevitable.

KRC Genk had sold Onuachu to Southampton for €18 million nearly two years ago, but the towering striker’s time in England has been far from successful.

Despite a promising loan spell at Trabzonspor last season, where he netted 15 goals in 21 appearances, Onuachu’s fortunes in England haven’t changed. This season, he has managed only 16 minutes of game time, and his future at the club seems bleak.

According to reports from Turkish media outlet A Spor, as cited by Voetbalkrant, Club Brugge are keen to offer Onuachu a fresh start, aiming to bring him back to the Belgian Pro League.

Trabzonspor, where Onuachu enjoyed success last season, are also reportedly interested in making his loan spell permanent. Onuachu remains contracted to Southampton until June 2026, leaving the club with a crucial decision to make ahead of the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, should there be a deal between Brugge and the Saints, the Nigerian will link up with his countryman Onyedika in the club and return to a familiar environment.
