English Championship side Norwich and Ligue 1 club Lens are interested in signing Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel next summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osayi-Samuel has spent the last four years at Fenerbahce. The 26-year-old joined the club from QPR, and he has grown significantly since his transfer.
Osayi-Samuel has become a regular member of the club. Even though Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho just took over in the summer, Nigerians have kept their starting shirt.
However, Osayi-Samuel’s time at Fenerbahce seems to be drawing to a halt. This is as his contract expires at the end of the campaign, and he has refused to pen down a new deal.
Once the Nigeria international’s deal expires, he will be free to join a new club. According to Haber Ekspres, Norwich and Lens have shown interest in acquiring his services.
Norwich are currently playing in the English Championship. But they could get a big edge in the pursuit of the Nigerian if they gain promotion to the Premier League. However, if they remain in the Championship, it is unlikely that Osayi-Samuel would fancy moving there.
On the other hand, there is a higher possibility that he will move to Lens. The French side have been impressive in the past two seasons and could even qualify for the Champions League.
Nonetheless, the summer is still a long way from now, and other top clubs could show interest in signing Osayi-Samuel.
