Watch: Moses Simon gets player of the month award at Nantes

French Ligue 1 club Nantes have named Super Eagles forward Moses Simon as the Player of the Month for August, Soccernet.ng reports.

Simon has had a blistering start to the 2023/24 Ligue 1 campaign. The Super Eagles star has started in all the Canaries’ games this season.

In Nantes’ opening game of the season, Simon failed to do much, but he made up for it in his second game. The 29-year-old forward scored the opener for Nantes in their second game against Auxerre, helping them to a 2-0 win.

Then in their third game at Montpellier, Simon scored again to help his side to a healthy 3-1 victory. Following his impressive performances for Nantes, Simon was named Nantes’ Player of the Month for August.

The Super Eagles star received his award just before Nantes’ game against Reims on Sunday. Simon registered an assist in the game, but Nantes lost 2-1, their first loss of the season.

Simon has been an important outlet for Nantes for the past three seasons. Last season, he flourished in the first few weeks. However, he tailed off later on.

The Super Eagles star has started brightly this season, and Nantes will be hoping that he remains in fine form and perhaps help them finish in one of the continental football positions.
