Watch: Alex Iwobi celebrates Fulham’s win over Newcastle with Semo and Egusi feast

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi found a unique way to relax after Fulham’s impressive English Premier League victory over Newcastle at Craven Cottage, Soccernet.ng reports.

The London-based club claimed all three points in their matchday five clash, with Iwobi delivering a standout performance under the guidance of Marco Silva.

Following the 3-1 win, the former Arsenal star was spotted indulging in a traditional Nigerian meal of Semo and egusi. This dish has become a favourite for some Nigerian football players.

This is not the first time Nigerian cuisine has made headlines in the football world. Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi previously credited fufu, another African delicacy, as one of the secrets behind his lightning speed.

“I eat lots of African food, but I have good genetics from my dad, so I think it’s difficult for you to get. It’s called fufu, and it’s very good,” Adeyemi told reporters.

Iwobi, too, delighted his fans by sharing a video of his post-match recovery meal on social media to show his cultural roots in the process.

During the game, the Nigerian midfielder provided a crucial assist to new Fulham signing Emile Smith Rowe, helping extend Fulham’s lead over Newcastle.

With that assist, Iwobi raised his tally to 31 in the Premier League, edging closer to surpassing Nwankwo Kanu’s record of 33 assists in England’s top flight.
