Ronaldo promotes new YouTube content on Instagram with Asake’s hit track ‘Active’

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has once again demonstrated his affinity for Afrobeats by featuring Nigerian artist Asake’s hit track “Active” in his latest Instagram promotion for his YouTube content. Soccernet.ng reports.

The football icon shared a clip on his social media, seamlessly blending his new venture with the infectious Afrobeat sound, further showcasing his appreciation for the genre.

The song “Active” is a standout from Asake’s recently released album Lungu Boy, which has already made waves in the music world.

Having it featured on Ronaldo’s platform has only amplified its global reach, giving it a significant publicity boost.

Within just four hours of the post, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s Instagram clip went viral, racking up 18.7 million views, 1.3 million likes, and over 20,000 comments.

Despite Asake himself not yet responding to the post, notable Nigerian celebrity Cubana Chief Priest quickly jumped in, commenting “Active” under Ronaldo’s post.

This isn’t the first time the former Manchester United forward has embraced Afrobeats. Back in March 2023, Ronaldo shared a heartwarming video of his three children dancing to Rema’s chart-topping single Calm Down.

Asake’s music has also found its way into the football world, with Liverpool and Netherlands captain Virgil Van Dijk previously seen vibing to his track Organize.
