Former Nigeria international Finidi George has expressed disappointment over Victor Osimhen’s failure to apologise following a recent online dispute, Soccernet.ng reports.
Earlier, inaccurate reports had suggested that George had criticised Osimhen for Nigeria’s loss to Benin Republic and claimed he would not plead with any player to join the squad.
In response, Osimhen took to social media in a heated 10-minute live session, accusing the former assistant coach of spreading falsehoods and expressing a significant loss of respect for him.
“You can talk nonsense. I have lost the respect I had for that man [Finidi]. I swear to God I’ve lost it now because why? I called him, told him to allow me to come to the camp to be with the boys. I have all these recorded, to come talk to the boys,” Osimhen had declared.
Following the outburst, the former Real Sociedad player reached out to Osimhen to address the situation but has yet to receive an apology.
Speaking on NigeriaInfoFM, Finidi remarked, “Victor Osimhen did not apologise even after I reached out to him. I wish everybody well. God will judge.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen quickly made his mark in Nigeria’s recent clash against Benin Republic, scoring his first goal since May during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
