Super Falconets forward, Chiamaka Okuchukwu, has shared her admiration for football legend Cristiano Ronaldo and her dream of playing for Manchester United, Soccernet.ng reports.
In a recent interview with FIFA.com, Okuchukwu expressed her deep respect for the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star, revealing her wish to meet him one day for a simple handshake.
Currently a key player in Christopher Danjuma’s squad at the ongoing 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Okuchukwu has already found the back of the net twice in the tournament.
She views the competition as a golden opportunity to kickstart her European football career and become a role model, much like her compatriot, Asisat Oshoala.
“This tournament is a big chance for me to show what I can do and move to a bigger club in Europe. That’s what I’m praying for: to be a professional footballer and a role model to fans and many people,” Okechukwu said.
One of Okechukwu’s ultimate goals is to play for Manchester United Women, and she has not hidden her admiration for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“For me, I admire Cristiano Ronaldo so much. So, of course, it’s a dream to play for Manchester United. It’s one of my biggest dreams to meet [Ronaldo] one day… even just to have a good handshake,” she added.
The Super Falconets of Nigeria are gearing up to face Japan in the Round of 16, and Okechukwu will be aiming to continue her fine form in the tournament.
