Asisat Oshoala reveals why Victor Osimhen rejected Chelsea’s deal in now-deleted tweet

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has shed light on why Victor Osimhen turned down an offer from Chelsea, hinting at an unsatisfactory proposal that led to the Nigerian striker’s decision, Soccernet.ng reports.

During the 2024 summer transfer window, Osimhen was at the centre of a heated transfer battle involving Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and several Saudi clubs, all eager to secure his signature.

However, despite the intense competition, the Napoli forward remained in Italy, a decision that has sparked mixed reactions within the Nigerian football community.

In a now-deleted tweet, Oshoala, who shares a close relationship with Osimhen, revealed the poor terms offered by the London-based club.

“If you hear wetin your club offer Victor Osimhen even you sef go swear for them,” Oshoala tweeted, implying that Chelsea’s proposal was far from satisfactory.

Her comment has ignited speculation about the specifics of the deal that Osimhen rejected, with many questioning what could have caused the Nigerian star to walk away from such a high-stakes transfer.

While the exact details of the offer remain unknown, Oshoala’s remark strongly suggests that the terms were unacceptable.

Oshoala’s insight has added another layer to the ongoing saga surrounding Osimhen’s future, as the Super Eagles striker continues to be linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
