WATCH: Emile Smith Rowe dedicates his first Fulham goal to Super Eagles duo

New Fulham signing, Emile Smith Rowe, dedicated his first Fulham goal to the club’s Nigerian duo, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Cottagers from Arsenal for a reported club-record £34 million fee, penning a five-year deal with Marco Silva’s side.

The England international came on for the second half in Fulham’s friendly pre-season game against Chidera Ejuke’s Sevilla at the Estádio Do Algarve. He pulled one back for his side in the 52nd minute, helping them cut the deficit by a goal since Isaac Romero scored two for the Spanish side in the first half.

Speaking after the game, Smith Rowe had his interview interfered with by Bassey and Iwobi, whom he referred to as people who have made him feel comfortable since making the Arsenal switch.

“These two, honestly, they’re jokers. I love my new teammates and I’ve settled in really well. I feel really comfortable. I dedicate my goal to you two because I think you welcomed me into the team,” the London born midfielder said to Super Eagles duo, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.

Fulham kick off their Premier League campaign at Old Trafford in ten days, taking on Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United.
