Everton weigh up tempting €50m offer for Super Eagles winger

Chukwueze provided two assists in Milan's 3-2 victory over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at the Yankee Stadium.

Super Eagles and AC Milan midfielder, Samuel Chukwueze, has caught the attention of English Premier League side, Everton, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 25-year-old joined the seven-time UEFA Champions League winners from Villareal last summer in a deal that could end up costing around €50m. However, he didn’t have the best start to life under Stefano Pioli.

Largely, he was second choice to Christian Pulisic and wasn’t prolific enough, scoring just once in over 20 league games.

On pre-season tour in the United States with AC Milan, the former Villareal man appears rejuvenated, as he’s put on spectacular displays, even urging the Milan fans to watch out for a better season from him.

According to Spanish outlet, Fichajes, Chukwueze could be close to a Premier League move for a fee ranging from 45 to 50 million euros which Milan would be willing to accept.

Sean Dyche’s Everton in their quest to bolster their squad and improve their position in the Premier League, view Chukwueze as an ideal addition. They believe his ability to play on both flanks and in the centre of the attack provides the Toffees with the versatility they need to compete at the highest level.

Of all the clubs that remained in the English top flight last season, Everton scored the least goals and their need for some creativity in attack is essential. Their offer reflects the confidence that Chukwueze can be a determining player in his tactical plans.

On the other hand, Milan are in a comfortable position to negotiate and are not in a hurry. Considering the significant increase in Chukwueze’s market value since joining the club, a sale would mean all positives for the Italian club. They would also make a profit, which will enable them to bring in more options in attack.

It is unclear if the 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup winner will be open to moving to Everton at this time, considering the enormous pre-season campaign he’s had in America.
