Watch: Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder trains with Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika ahead of pre-season

The midfielder has just one cap for Nigeria, and he was quite impressive

Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder Kingsley Michael has shared a video of himself training with compatriots Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, and David Okereke ahead of pre-season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Michael made his debut for Nigeria in September 2021, in a World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde. He put in a superb shift in that game to help the Super Eagles claim a 2-1 win.

At the time, he was just 22 years of age and was still in the books of Italian side Bologna. However, his career has spiralled down since then.

Michael struggled to find a place at Bologna and had to leave on separate loan deals at Reggina, SV Reid, before leaving permanently to Austrian lower league side DSV Leoben, where he spent last season.

However, Michael’s contract expired at the end of last season, and there has been little talk about his next destination. This summer, the 24-year-old has been pictured with compatriots Boniface and Onyedika enjoying their holidays.

But he has now resumed training. The Nigeria international recently shared a video of himself with compatriots Boniface and Onyedika in a training session.

Most players have already started training ahead of the 2024/25 season. Michael is yet to get a new deal, but before the end of the summer, he should have gotten a new club.
