Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has returned to Napoli for pre-season despite talks that he could exit the club this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen’s future has been the topic of numerous transfer talks this summer following his consistent brilliant performances for Napoli. The Nigerian striker arrived at the club in 2020, and he has registered 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 appearances across all competitions.
European giants like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and PSG were linked with a move for the 25-year-old hitman last year, but nothing materialized. However, this summer, it is highly likely that Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer.
Currently, Arsenal, PSG, and Saudi Arabia-based Al Hilal seem to be the main clubs interested in Osimhen. However, nothing concrete has come up yet, as Napoli want over €110 million before they let the former Lille man leave.
Meanwhile, reports from Italian outlet Sportface indicate that Osimhen has returned to Napoli to prepare for pre-season. The Super Eagles star linked up with his teammates at their Castel Volturno training ground on Tuesday. The players participated in gym work, and had medical check-ups. Osimhen met his new coach Antonio Conte, and he was all smiles with his teammates.
Napoli have friendly games lined up against Adana Demirspor on July 28, Brest on July 31, and Girona on August 3. Then, they will play in the Copa Italia against Modena on August 10.
Osimhen will likely participate in all these fixtures except Napoli accept any bid for him soon.
