Former English Premier League champions Chelsea are searching for a new right-footed winger to sign this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Chelsea had a disappointing campaign last season under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino. They managed to finish 6th in the Premier League after their second half performance covered for their poor showing in the first half of the season.
Following their poor campaign in the English Premier League, the Blues are looking to add quality to their team. Chelsea have already brought in new legs like Marc Guiu from Barcelona and Estevao from Palmeiras.
However, they are still looking to add some quality to their side. According to Vince, the Blues still have their sights set on signing a new right-footed winger this summer.
The club has been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi, but nothing is concrete yet. Meanwhile, there is a chance that Chelsea could attempt to sign Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman.
The 26-year-old had a smashing season with Atalanta last season, registering 17 goals and ten assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
Lookman’s future has been a big topic this summer because clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Al Ittihad have been linked with him.
The Super Eagles star is also keen on a return to a big club in the Premier League, so it would be easy to convince him. Lookman could provide another outlet for the Blues and lessen the workload on Cole Palmer, who shouldered most of creative work last season.
Lookman would also be affordable for Chelsea, as he is valued at €60 million, albeit that price could be beaten down. Getting Lookman would be a big move for Chelsea, and he would make his presence really felt on the left side of Atalanta’s back line.
