Photos: Slavia Prague elevates Stadium spirit with ex-Flying Eagles defender poster showcase

Czech Republic side Slavia Prague has unveiled a poster of former Flying Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu in front of Fortuna Arena, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian defender joined Slavia Prague from Lillestrøm during the January 2023 transfer window and has since become a crucial part of the Prague-based club.

During the 2023-24 season, the center-back played a key role for Slavia, scoring two goals in his seven Europa League appearances and making a total of 42 appearances across all competitions.

Ogbu’s impressive performances have endeared him to fans and the club, leading to the honour of having his poster displayed prominently at the team’s home stadium.

Ogbu has made over 145 competitive appearances for various clubs, including Lillestrøm SK, Sogndal IL, Levanger FK, Rosenborg BK, and Gombe United FC. His football career began with Gombe United in Nigeria.

Recognizing his talent, Norwegian club Rosenborg signed Ogbu to a four-year contract in February 2018. During his time with Rosenborg, he had loan spells at Levanger and Sogndal, where he honed his skills and gained significant match experience.

In June 2020, Ogbu transitioned to Sogndal on a permanent basis, further establishing himself in Norwegian football.

Slavia Prague’s decision to honor Ogbu with a stadium poster highlights his impact and popularity within the club, celebrating his contributions both on and off the field.
