Former France international Louis Saha has expressed his desire to see Victor Osimhen sign for Manchester United this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen, who played a key role in Napoli’s historic Scudetto win last year, has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
Besides Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keeping an eye on the Super Eagles striker.
However, Napoli’s high transfer demands could be a stumbling block. The Nigerian forward signed a new deal in December, which includes a reported €130 million release clause.
This hefty fee might deter potential buyers, including Manchester United, who spent over €73 million on Danish striker Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta in 2023.
Despite this, former United forward Saha remains hopeful. He believes Osimhen has the qualities reminiscent of Juventus legend David Trezeguet and former Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy.
“My dream summer signing would be Victor Osimhen from Napoli,” Saha told Gambling Zone. “He would really fit the bill at Old Trafford. If I were them, I’d be doing everything to try and get him from Napoli.
“I’d love to see him in a United shirt next season. His attitude, his work rate, he is so good in front of goal. He has a belief and confidence that reminds me of David Trezeguet or Ruud van Nistelrooy, strikers who attract the ball to their feet.
“Proper strikers are dying, but it’s easy to see that Osimhen is one of them.”
Last season, Osimhen scored 17 goals and provided three assists in all competitions for Napoli, despite missing part of the campaign due to injury and his commitment to Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
