Keep or sell: “He is unpredictable” – Fabio Cannavaro weighs in on Osimhen and Lukaku

Ex-Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku is being considered as a replacement for Victor Osimhen at Napoli, if Osimhen leaves

Former Italy international Fabio Cannavaro has offered his perspective on Super Eagles attacker Victor Osimhen and his potential replacement, Romelu Lukaku, Soccernet.ng reports.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Napoli are prepared to secure the signature of Belgium international Lukaku if Super Eagles star Osimhen departs the club.

The former Real Madrid defender emphasized the importance of Osimhen’s partnership with teammate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, suggesting that it would be beneficial for Napoli to retain the duo for another period.

“If Napoli can hold onto Osimhen and Kvara, it would be very advantageous. Last year, I studied it very carefully: they are very strong,” Cannavaro said.

The 50-year-old current Udinese manager believes that the Nigerian international needs fewer chances to score goals than the former Manchester United striker.

He added, “Osi touches two balls and scores three goals. He is unpredictable and needs fewer chances than Lukaku. Conte always puts the players in their place, but the added value is Oriali, who will free him from dirty work, allowing him to focus on the team.”

Soccernet.ng earlier reported that Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain has reignited their bid to sign the Nigerian striker from Napoli. However, they are not looking to meet Osimhen’s €130 million release clause.
