Super Eagles and Fulham’s attacking midfielder, Alex Chuka Iwobi, was in high spirits, as he celebrated his sister’s wedding in grand style, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 27-year-old versatile midfielder dressed in the conventional brown African kaftan attire, and was seen spraying money as he celebrated giving his sister’s hand out in marriage.
Minutes later, his dad and his mother joined in, dancing, as they cheered in an intimate family moment.
Iwobi’s sister, Marie, is a well-known writer and editor in the United Kingdom. On Alex’s 27th birthday, she took to her Instagram page to post childhood pictures of she and her brother, highlighting how far they’ve come as a family and how proud she is of him.
On the pitch, the former Arsenal man dropped a hint that he might be donning his favourite Jersey number in the coming Premier League season.
He wore the number 22 shirt after joining the Cottagers from Everton on the transfer deadline day last summer because the number 17 shirt was already occupied by German goalkeeper, Bernd Leno. The Super Eagles midfielder posted the jersey on his Instagram page with the caption – “Rumour has it, 17 is back.”
Fulham start their Premier League season with a trip to Old Trafford on August 16th. The last time Fulham played against Manchester United at the theatre of dreams, Iwobi scored a last minute winner.
