Nigeria vs Benin Republic: Super Eagles predicted XI – Onuachu, Iheanacho out; Boniface, Chukwueze in

Finidi George led Nigeria to a draw against South Africa last week Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Les Guépards of Benin Republic in their World Cup qualifying game tomorrow, Soccernet.ng reports.

Finidi George was on the touchline as the Super Eagles played a 1-1 draw against South Africa last Friday in a far-from-dominant display. He will continue to press on his Super Eagles coach duties when Nigeria takes on Benin Republic tomorrow.

Following the draw against South Africa, coach Finidi would have to make some tweaks to the team. Soccernet.ng predicts the Super Eagles’ lineup with the players available in the Nigerian camp.

Goalkeeper: Despite conceding a goal in Nigeria’s draw against Bafana Bafana, Stanley Nwabali put in another impressive performance in a Super Eagles shirt. Without a doubt, he’ll be expected to start in goal against the Benin Republic, bar any casualties.

Defenders: Benjamin Tanimu and Bright Osayi-Samuel didn’t have the best performances against Hugo Broos’ men as they played out of position. Osayi should return to his right-back position where he feels more comfortable. Benjamin Tanimu and Semi Ajayi should be placed in front of Stanley Nwabali, while Calvin Bassey takes the left-back spot.

Midfielders: The midfield trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru and Alex Iwobi worked against South Africa, except they were without synergy for the early parts of the game. The solidity and familiarity the trio bring should continue against Gernot Rohr’s men tomorrow.

Forwards: The combination Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu and Kelechi Iheanacho didn’t work against South Africa. Victor Boniface’s club form should earn him a spot up-front, with Ademola Lookman playing off the left. Samuel Chukwueze was impressive when he came off the bench in Uyo, and if fully fit, should start against Benin Republic

The line-up in full: Stanley Nwabali; Bright Osayi-Samuel, Benjamin Tanimu, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey; Wilfred Ndidi, Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru; Alex Iwobi; Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman.

  • The starting line up by super Eagle against Benin Republic is okay. Finidi should not feature Onachu, Iheanacho. He should retain Dele bashiru, while he also features Victor Boniface and Frank onyeka. Finidi should retain chukweze for No 7, Calvin bassey no 11.
