Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi is a man in high demand as nothing less than three top clubs have made concrete moves to take him off the payroll of Leicester City, Soccernet.ng reports.
One of Nigeria’s most dynamic midfielders, Ndidi is set to leave Leicester City this summer after spending seven-and-a-half years with the Foxes.
The 27-year-old will be available to move on a free transfer by July as his contract with Leicester expires at the end of this month.
The Foxes are believed to be interested in keeping Ndidi at the King Power Stadium, especially with the club back in the Premier League after a year down in the Championship. But the two parties have not agreed on a deal and this has encouraged several clubs to target Ndidi.
And according to GFNF, the trio of Everton, Lyon, and Olympique de Marseille have made offers to Ndidi, even as AS Monaco and Sevilla are also credited with interest in the Nigerian star.
Ndidi, whose only previous stint in Europe was a two-year stay in Belgium with KRC Genk, may be inclined towards remaining in England.
The Nath Boys Academy product could be tempted to move to Everton, if no agreement is reached with Leicester, but the Toffees have no European football to offer him.
The thirst to play again on the continent could see Ndidi decide to sign for Lyon after a late surge last season ensured Les Gones qualified for the Europa League.
A Nigerian international since making his debut in 2015, Ndidi helped the Super Eagles win the bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ndidi, however, missed out on Nigeria’s party to the 2023 AFCON, where an injury forced him to be replaced by Alhassan Yusuf. The Super Eagles finished the tournament in second place, losing only one of seven games.
