Two-time UEFA Champions League champions, Chelsea, have joined Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the pursuit of Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ahead of next season, the Blues have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer from Fulham, whilst agreeing deals with Aston Villa’s Omari Kellyman, Barcelona’s Marc Guiu and Palmerias’ Estêvão Willian as they look to usher in a fresh era under Enzo Maresca.
However, the two-time UEFA Europa League champions are still in the transfer market for attackers and have been linked with Jhon Duran, Crysencio Summerville, Sam Omodioron, and Michael Olise, but the Crystal Palace winger has already agreed terms with Bayern Munich.
According to Italian outlet, Calciomercato, Chelsea are interested in the services of Ademola Lookman and are willing to pay up to to €60m for the Nigerian. However, they face stiff competition from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich for the services of the 26-year-old.
Soccernet.ng previously reported that Lookman is keen to return to the English Premier League after spending the last two seasons with Atalanta, although, his preferred destination is unknown at the moment.
The former RB Leipzig man had a brilliant season for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists as he heralded the Italians to their first-ever European silverware in Dublin, scoring a hat-trick against Xabi Alonso’s Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League final.
Lookman impressed with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the AFCON 2023 tournament, scoring three goals and helping the team to the final of the competition where they lost to Ivory Coast.
