Beyond Limits, Ikorodu City FC and others gain promotion to the NPFL

Four clubs from the Nigerian National League have secured promotion to the NPFL after the Super Eight play-offs, Soccernet.ng reports.

The four football clubs secured promotion to the Nigerian top-flight from the Nigerian second-division league after the Nigeria National League (NNL) play-offs in Enugu.

Nasarawa United and El-Kanemi Warriors were relegated from the NPFL last year after finishing bottom of the league but they emerged winners from the Nothern NNL conference while Ikorodu City FC and Beyond Limits were winners of the NNL Southern Conference.

In the Northern Conference, Nasarawa United defeated Sporting Supreme 2-1, securing the top spot with nine points while El-Kanemi Warriors cruised to victory against Sokoto United, defeating them 4-1 to secure second place, three points behind Nasarawa United.

Down South, Beyond Limits lead their group with seven points after a 1-0 win over Sporting Lagos’s newest rivals – Inter Lagos. Ikorodu City F.C. defeated Madiba FC 2-0, securing promotion to the NPFL after they were founded just two years ago.

Beyond Limits,  the football academy of Remo Stars Football Club became the first African team to win the Viareggio Cup, earlier this year. They’ve also won the NNL once, the Creative Championship four times, the NPFL youth league once, and the Ogun State FA Cup once, a great testament to the hard work put in at the club.
