“Napoli can’t find another Osimhen” – Ex-Italy striker Galderisi

Osimhen will likely leave Napoli in the summer, and the club would have to get a replacement

Former Italy international Giuseppe Galderisi believes Napoli cannot find another player like Victor Osimhen in Europe, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has been an integral part of Napoli’s team for the last three seasons. The Nigeria international has been the main linchpin for the Partenopeans for the last three seasons. He was key in their Serie A triumph last season, registering 26 goals.

His consistent performances for Napoli has attracted interest from many top European clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and PSG. And it is likely that the former Lille man will leave in the summer. Nonetheless, Napoli will get a bumper fee, as the 25-year-old is valued at around €120 million.

The club would have to re-invest in a new striker immediately so as to fill that void. The Partenopeans have been linked to strikers like Romelu Lukaku, Joshua Zirkzee, Viktor Gyokeres, and Jonathan David. But at the moment, Napoli do not seem to have a favourite.

Retired Italy forward, Galderisi believes Osimhen is unique and it would be difficult to get a like-for-like replacement.

“He (Osimhen) always makes the right move. He has Characteristics that I don’t see around Europe. You find another Osimhen, he commands respect in the penalty area,” Galderisi said per Calcio Napoli.

If Napoli sell Osimhen, it is likely that they will invest heavily on a new striker. Hence, another young big-name striker could land in Naples.
