Lesley Ugochukwu: Nigeria-eligible star hands Chelsea midfield boost ahead of Tottenham tie

In a promising development for Chelsea, Nigerian youngster Lesley Ugochukwu has made a return to training after a prolonged spell on the sidelines, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since December due to a hamstring injury, effectively halting his progress on the pitch.

However, according to reports from football.london, Ugochukwu is now back in action and has fully recovered from his injury setback.

The French midfielder’s return to the fold brings a breath of fresh air to Chelsea’s training ground, Cobham, where he has been spotted actively engaging with the ball in drills alongside fellow youngsters Cesare Casadei and Kiano Dyer.

This resumption in training marks a significant milestone for Ugochukwu, who has been diligently working towards regaining his fitness and form.

Ugochukwu’s presence adds to the youthful vigor within the Chelsea setup as he joins the ranks of other promising talents like Leo Castledine, Dujon Richards, and Dylan Williams, who have also been involved in training sessions with the first team.

Despite Chelsea’s depth in squad personnel, injuries have necessitated the integration of young players into senior training, providing them with valuable exposure and experience at the highest level.

As Ugochukwu resumes his journey with the Chelsea squad, eyes will be keenly watching his progress, eager to see how he fares in his quest to make a meaningful impact on the pitch.

Chelsea desperately need inspiration at the moment as Mauricio Pochettino’s men are on a run of three games without a win.

The Blues lost narrowly to Manchester City in the FA Cup before receiving a 5-0 battering at the hands of Arsenal in the Premier League.

The Stamford Bridge giants could only settle for a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in their last game in April and face another tricky tie at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, May 2nd.

Ugochukwu will hope to play a part in that game as Chelsea look to put together a strong finish to end a rather mediocre campaign.

The Super Eagles-eligible midfielder has made ten appearances for the Londoners in the Premier League this term.
