Nigerian forward, Victor Moses, bids farewell to Spartak Moscow as his three-year contract with the Russian club expires, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
Moses initially joined Spartak Moscow on loan from Chelsea in the 2020-2021 season before making the move permanent in the subsequent summer transfer window.
During his tenure, Moses made significant contributions to the team, tallying 10 goals and 10 assists in 84 appearances for the Gladiators.
Moses’s final home game for Spartak Moscow ended in a 3-1 Premier League victory against Rubin Kazan at the Otkritie Arena and he was well-celebrated by his teammates.
While the club has decided not to extend Moses’ contract, they expressed gratitude for his valuable service on their official X (formerly Twitter) page.
“Victor Moses is leaving Spartak at the end of the season. Two-time medalist of the Russian Championship, winner of the Russian Cup, one of the heroes of the group stage of the Europa League 2021/22. We thank Victor for the years spent in our club. We wish you success and good luck!” the club’s statement read.
Before the Nigerian star finally departs Moscow, the Reds will take a trip to the Gazovic Stadium for their final clash against Orenburg.
As Moses departs Spartak Moscow, the 33-year-old’s future plans regarding international retirement or continued club-level play remain undisclosed.
