WATCH: Nigeria’s Paul Onuachu nets 18 minute hat-trick in six-goal Trabzonspor thriller with Gaziantep in Turkey

Paul Onuachu delivered an excellent performance on Sunday afternoon to power Trabzonspor to a stunning 4-2 win over Gaziantep FK in the Turkish Super Liga, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles striker netted a superb hat-trick and an assist in 18 second-half minutes to help Trabzonspor fight back from a two-nil deficit and register a remarkable win.

Trabzonspor were looking for their 18th win of the campaign when they hosted Gaziantep at the Papara Park in Trabzon, but the visitors had other plans.

Deian Cristian Sorescu opened the scoring after only 12 minutes before Denis Drăguş doubled the advantage as Gaziantep headed into the interval with a comfortable advantage.

Five minutes into the second period, Onuachu smashed home Trabzonspor’s first goal, connecting with a cross from the right flank to force a shot through the goalkeeper’s palms.

In the 65th minute, Trabzonspor were back on levelled terms as Onuachu turned provider, assisting Enis Bardhi’s equaliser.

The home team’s comeback was completed a minute later as Onuachu showed deft finishing instincts to round the goalkeeper before finding the net.

The Paul Onuachu show was not over yet, though.

With 68 minutes on the clock, Onuachu scored arguably his finest goal of the three as he smashed a beauty into the top corner after trapping a cross from the left on his chest to beat his marker.

It is the first time the Nigerian forward will bag a hat-trick for Trabzonspor since joining them on loan from Southampton.

It is also Onuachu’s first hat-trick since November 2022, when he grabbed four goals for KRC Genk in a 4-1 victory against Sporting Charleroi.

Onuachu, 29, now has 12 goals and four assists in 18 Super Lig games this season.
