Taiwo played alongside other football legends, including former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard. President Macron was also not left out of the game, as he showcased his football skills and even scored a goal.
The Nigerian forward’s outing happens to be a rare sighting, as fans have wondered what he has been up to these past years. Taiwo has been out of the limelight for a long while, with his career declining after a great run in France.
Although the 39-year-old never officially announced his retirement, Taiwo has been away from active football for almost two years. His last match appearance was with Finnish club Salon Palloilijat, which he was released from in June 2022.
