Transfer: Wolverhampton Wanderers launch €12m bid for Super Eagles full-back

Wolverhampton Wanderers have launched a huge bid for Super Eagles and Fenerbahçe versatile full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old has been ever-present for the Yellow Canaries this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 18 league appearances.

Across 34 games in all competitions, Osayi has featured as a right-back, right wing-back, midfielder and right-winger, showing his versatility and importance in Ismail Karta’s team.

The former QPR man has been linked with a return to England, as Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Wolves are all rumoured to be interested.

According to Turkish outlet, NTVSpor, the Wolves have made a €12m bid for the Super Eagles defender as a first step in bolstering their squad for next season after injuries ripped them apart this term.

The bid made by Gary O’Neil’s team is towards the range that is considered acceptable by Fenerbahçe, and the success of the deal rests in their response. Osayi’s contract runs out at the end of 2025, hinting that he might be returning to the English top flight this summer, or else they risk losing him for free in 2025.

Wolves are currently 12th on the English Premier League table and are winless in their last five games. Although the Old Gold are safe from relegation, their poor run of form is something they look to correct going forward, and hopefully end the season on a high note.

Osayi and Fenerbahçe have only lost one league game this season, and are second on the Turkish Super Lig table, seven points behind Galatasaray. With five games left to play, the destination of the league title is between both teams.
