Photos: Super Falcons’ Christy Ucheibe celebrates win against South Africa with touching photos taken with her father

Super Falcons star Christy Ucheibe’s father was definitely a proud dad at the MKO Abiola Stadium, as he watched his daughter display her football prowess in the game against Banyana Banyana, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 23-year-old midfielder was part of the team that led Nigeria to victory in the Olympic qualifiers against South Africa on Friday. Ucheibe, who plays for Portuguese club Benfica, made her debut on the Nigerian national women’s team in 2023 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Following a victorious win, Ucheibe has taken to social media to share heartwarming pictures captured with her father after the game.

Ucheibe shared these pictures in an Instagram post with a lovely caption which reads, “The prayer of a father and the dream of a daughter came to pass on the same day…All glory to God”.

The Super Falcons are now a step further to clinching a spot in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, thanks to the team captain Rasheedat Ajibade.

The Falcons will now head to Pretoria, South Africa to once again face Banyana Banyana in the second and final leg of the qualifiers on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. The winner of this last phase will secure a spot at the Olympic games which will begin in July.
