Forbes Africa Spotlight: Napoli’s Victor Osimhen joins Fireboy DML, and Tobi Amusan in the 30 under 30 class of 2024

Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor James Osimhen, has been included in the 2024 Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 25-year-old striker had an amazing year with Napoli in the 2022/2023 season, helping the club to their first Scudetto in over thirty years, alongside carting the Capocannoniere award for himself and getting placed 8th in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

With a large fanbase in Africa and Italy that loves him for his antics on and off the field, Victor Osimhen was included in the 2024 edition of the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list.

The inclusion of the former Lille man is not only due to his achievements in the football world, but also for his integrity and positive influence within the communities he’s been placed in, and beyond sports.

The list uncovered some of the most influential and iconic young people on the continent, profiling record-breakers, history-makers and risk-takers who have done a lot of work to rewrite the outsider’s narrative on Africa.

Nigerian female track-and-field athlete, Tobi Amusan, joined Osimhen to become the only Nigerian athletes featured on the Forbes list. 26-year-old Amusan is the current world record holder in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds which she set at the 2022 women’s 100 metres hurdles semi-final in Eugene Oregon.

In its April/May 2024 issue, Forbes Africa celebrates a decade of its annual 30 Under 30 list. It’s a nod to the incredible talent bubbling up from the heart of Africa, where the youth population is thriving.

This list isn’t just about names; it’s about young dreamers and doers, blazing trails in entertainment, education, sports, tech, healthcare, art, and beyond. They’re the ones shaping Africa’s tomorrow with their passion and drive.

Nigerian afro-beats artist, who’s most famous for his Peru feature with Ed Sheeran, Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan (Fireboy DML), founder and CEO of Mainlogix Technology – Josiah Akinloye, founder of Veekee James – Ruth Erikan James, and the founder and CEO FXKudi -Abioye Oyetunji, were among those included.

South African Grammy-winning musician, Tyla Laura Seethal was also included in the Forbes 30 under 30 list.
