Transfer: Crystal Palace desperate to fend off other English clubs for Bright Osayi-Samuel

Osayi-Samuel was included in Jose Peseiro's 25-man AFCON 2023 squadlist

At least three Premier League clubs are vying for the signature of Super Eagles and Fernabache right wing-back, Bright Samuel-Osayi, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osayi-Samuel, 26, featured in the AFCON 2023 tournament for the Nigerian football team as they returned home with the silver medal.

The former Queens Park Rangers man is a huge asset for the Sarı Kanaryalar as he can play anywhere on the right flank, from the right-back position to playing as a wide midfielder, as a wing-back, and further in attack as a winger on the right.

According to Turkish outlet, Aksam, the 26-year-old Nigerian international is a target for Crystal Palace, and it remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature.

The London club face stiff competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United as well. The versatile player is in the best form of his footballing career this season, scoring three goals and recording four assists.

He is set to be a part of The Eagles’ long-term plan, as they look to form a bond between Osayi and Eze, who has close ties with the player. It is also considered a possibility that some of the bigger clubs might make a move for Michael Olise.

Fernabache will request around ten million euros for the deal to happen in the summer, regardless of where the offer comes from, as Osayi also has clubs outside of England considering a move for him.

Crystal Palace are currently 14th on the Premier League table and are eight points clear of the relegation places.
