Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu will return to action for Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor in mid-April, six weeks after he sustained an injury in their game against Istanbul Basaksehir, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onuachu has been an important player for Trabzonspor since he joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Southampton.
The Nigerian striker registered nine goals and three assists for the club in the first half of the season, earning himself a call-up to the national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
After the competition, Onuachu returned to Trabzonspor, but in his third game against Basaksehir at the end of February, he sustained a fracture in his arm and a muscle injury in his left groin.
Initially, the 29-year-old was expected to be out for several months, but Trabzonspor have dealt with the fracture, as Onuachu has a cast on his arm, while he is undergoing rehabilitation for the muscle injury.
Now, according to 61Saat, Onuachu is expected to return to action in mid-April. This means that the Nigerian striker will miss the game against Konyaspor next week, but he could return in time for the game against Sivasspor.
Trabzonspor are challenging for a Europa League spot, and with eight games left, they will be looking to finish well. Onuachu could give them a big boost in these final games.
