Report– EFL club, Wijnaldum’s Al-Ettifaq eye Super Eagles GK Nwabali

Stanley Nwabali kept four clean sheets in seven matches at the just-concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament

EFL Championship side Queens Park Rangers and Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ettifaq are reportedly eyeing Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Soccernet.ng reports.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s insights suggest that both clubs are keen on securing Nwabali’s services, with Chippa United open to considering offers during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Nwabali gained attention when Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro turned to him to address the Super Eagles’ goalkeeper issues ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

The Chippa United shot-stopper showcased his talent by delivering four clean sheets in seven matches during the AFCON tournament, establishing himself as a reliable presence between the posts.

The goalkeeper’s impressive performances have attracted interest from various clubs, including Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, the former club of Victor Boniface, who are eager to strengthen their squad.

Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq, known for signing players like Moussa Dembele and Georginio Wijnaldum, is also eyeing Nwabali to further enhance their squad depth.

Despite the transfer rumors circulating online, Nwabali remains focused on his current club, Chippa United, as he awaits concrete offers. In a previous statement to Soccernet.ng, he acknowledged the speculation but affirmed that he is yet to receive any official offers.

As discussions continue among the clubs and the player’s representatives, Nwabali remains committed to delivering top performances at the club level, aiming to attract more significant interest from potential suitors.
