In La Liga, Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq featured from start to finish but could not help Real Sociedad from falling to a tough 3-2 defeat against Sevilla.

Italy

Maduka Okiye was in goal for Udinese while Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi played the last 20 minutes for Salernitana as both teams settled for a 1-1 inside the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine.

Down in Serie C, Malik Olalekan Popoola netted the consolation goal for Brindisi as they suffered a 3-1 home loss to Messina.

Hungary

In the NB I, Bright Edomwonyi fired home a second-half equaliser for Diósgyőr in their 1-1 draw with Puskás.

Japan

In the J3 League, 21-year-old Kenneth Otabor struck in the 34th minute to cancel out Koh Seung-Jin’s 15th-minute opener and earn a 1-1 draw for Grulla Morioka at Giravanz Kitakyushu.

Portugal

Oche Ochowechi opened the scoring for Feirense in the 18th minute of their Segunda Liga clash with Benfica II, but the visitors fought back after the break to claim a 2-1 triumph.

Russia

Olakunle Olusegun grabbed his third goal of the Russian Premier League season to put Krasnodar ahead in their match against Rubin Kazan. However, Rustamjon Ashurmatov netted a late equaliser for Rubin Kazan as both teams settled for a score draw.

2013 AFCON winner Victor Moses featured for the last six minutes of Spartak Moscow’s goalless draw at Zenit.

Scotland

In the Premiership, Cyriel Dessers failed to sparkle, while Leon Balogun was an unused substitute as Rangers fell to a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to Motherwell.

South Africa

Olisa Ndah was a rock in defence for Orlando Pirates as they sealed a slim 1-0 victory away to Polokwane City and provisionally moved to fourth place on the PSL table.

Daniel Akpeyi was excellent in goal to keep a clean sheet that inspired Moroka Swallows to a goalless draw at Kaizer Chiefs.

Turkey

Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel scored his first goal of the year 2024 and his third league goal this season to lift Fenerbahce to a fine 2-0 win over Hatayspor.

United States

Tani Oluwaseyi scored his first-ever MLS goal in the 95th minute of Minnesota United’s 1-1 draw at home to Columbus Crew.

Oluwaseyi only recently returned from a successful loan spell at San Antonio, where he registered 18 goals in 27 USC games.
