Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has expressed satisfaction over Nice’s 3-1 victory against Lens in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nice started the season well, and they looked like they would present a worthwhile challenge to defending Ligue 1 champion PSG for the title. With the regular big boys Lyon and Marseille struggling, Les Aiglons raised expectations with their start to the campaign.
However, they started to struggle in mid-February. They went on a six-game winless streak, losing five games and drawing one.
However, Nice returned to winning ways on Saturday at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis when they took on Lens. Moffi scored in both halves, and Khephren added one to ensure that Elye Wahi’s goal was just a consolation for Lens. The victory took Nice to fourth place, pending the result of Lille’s game against Brest on Sunday.
Following the game, Moffi expressed satisfaction over the victory as he felt it was much-needed after their poor run in recent weeks.
“It was a very important win for us. As a team, we really needed the victory. Now, we just need to clear our heads and come back even stronger and more positive,” Moffi said.
Moffi’s goals were his eighth and ninth of the season, and with eight games left for Nice this season, he would look to finish the campaign on a high.
