The Super Eagles star has been consistent for Brentford since he returned from the Africa Cup of Nations
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka registered an assist for Brentford in their 2-2 draw against Chelsea at the Brentford Community Stadium, Soccernet.ng reports.
Brentford welcomed Chelsea to their Community Stadium in their Premier League clash on Saturday. The Blues were fresh off a win against Leeds United in the FA Cup in midweek, while Brentford were looking to bounce back from a 4-2 loss against West Ham last week.
Since Onyeka returned from the AFCON, he has been a regular for Brentford, and coach Thomas Frank kept the faith in the game against the Blues.
The Bees had a bad start, as Nichola Jackson scored the opener in the 35th minute. Chelsea took the lead into the break, but the second half was more dramatic.
Roerslev Rasmussen scored the equalizer for Brentford in the 50th minute to give the Bees something to fight for.
Then, in the 69th minute, Brentford got their second, and Nigerian star Onyeka was involved in it, as he set up Yoanne Wissa with a nice assist for their second.
Eight minutes later, Onyeka was taken off for Mathias Jensen after he received a yellow card. The Nigerian midfielder registered 31 touches, two clearances, two tackles, and one shot on goal.
Unfortunately for Brentford, they could not see out their lead, as Axel Disasi scored in the 83rd minute to help Chelsea to a 2-2 draw.
