Not Everton: Leicester City’s Ndidi to return from injury for crunch FA Cup tie at Old Trafford

Leicester City head coach, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, has confirmed Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, is line to make an injury return ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash against Manchester United, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old has been out since December due to a thigh injury, missing some crucial games for the Foxes as they look to escape the relegation zone.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side sealed the first Premier League since Ndidi’s injury last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur at the London stadium, and will be hoping to build on a positive result here on in.

Ahead of Leicester’s trip to Everton this weekend, Ruud Van Nistelrooy revealed an update about the fitness condition of the one-time FA Cup winner.

The former Manchester United striker revealed Ndidi still has some way to go regarding full fitness, but should return to action next week.

“Ricardo is recovering. He’s still in individual training with the physios. He’s moved outside to that part of rehab, so he’s on the grass with the physios. His rehab is going according to plan. Wilfred is making good progress. He is partially involved in team training. We’ll look to bring him into full-team training next week,” the Dutch manager said in quotes revealed by Leicester Mercury.

While the Everton game comes too soon for Ndidi, his presence will be crucial for Leicester when they take on Manchester United in the 4th round of the FA Cup next Friday.

Ruben Amorim’s men defeated Arsenal on penalties at the Emirates Stadium in the previous round despite being a man down and will be hoping to harness the power of the fans at Old Trafford to get one over their former Interim manager.
