“The Champions League final is the only game you played good in your career”- Ex-Chelsea star tells Mikel

Mikel had a good career at Chelsea, but the Champions League final was one of the best games of his career

Former Belgium forward Eden Hazard has told former Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi that his best game in his career was the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, Soccernet.ng reports.

Hazard was one of the best players to play for Chelsea. The Belgian lit up Stamford Bridge many times, helping with 85 goals and 61 assists in 245 appearances for Chelsea before leaving for Real Madrid in 2019.

However, before joining the Blues, the former Belgium international had difficulty deciding because Manchester United and Manchester City were also interested in him.

Hazard admits that Chelsea was not top on his list at the time because they were doing poorly as they finished sixth in the Premier League that season. However, he admitted that he changed his mind after they won the Champions League in 2012.

Hazard says he watched the game, and he also took a slight dig at former Chelsea teammate Mikel.

“When I wanted to change clubs, Chelsea was not one of my options until the day they won the Champions League,” Hazard said on the ObiOne Podcast.

“I watched the game from my hotel room; the champions league final is the only game you(Mikel) played good in your career.”

Hazard played alongside Mikel Obi at Chelsea, and both players had a good relationship in their five years together at the club. Mikel has also had a few digs at Hazard on his podcast, but they still maintain a good relationship.

What do you think about Hazard’s statement? Is he right about John Obi Mikel’s career?
